Zivalic Family

After shooting Ryan and Holly's holiday family portraits last month I sent a text to Holly - I feel like you guys are complete now. It might not make sense to others but she understood exactly what I meant by it. Sully now a little over 2 years old, has the combination of Ryan and Holly's personality. Her sense of humor might be more on Ryan's side. I'm basing that on the last video he sent me of Sully potty training. She did however picked up being affectionate from Holly. Amado and I are still enjoying Marley as a baby. We can kind of see a glimpse of  how she'll be a year or two older but I'm not ready for her to grow up yet.

Jeremiah

Besides being Barangay LA's "Mr. Media", I'm glad to also refer to Jeremiah as a friend. While we were preparing to march down Downtown LA for the Lunar Parade, he asked me to help him with some photos to go along with his media profile/resume.

See, he really is just all smiles!
I wanted to highlight his fun and upbeat personality in his photos. He is after all our organization's
PR and Marketing guy.

I can't leave out Adrian's photo. Another great assistant!
I asked him to sit in so I can adjust my settings while Jer took a phone call.
You're now on my "Assistant" list, right after Amado lol.

Sue, Kirby and Kasey

It's been a while since Kasey, her mom and her sister had their family portrait taken
so Kasey got in touch with me for a quick session.
It was my first time meeting her mom (Sue) and her sister (Kirby) and I had a great with them.
Thanks again ladies!

Love, love, love Sue's laugh in this one.

We walked over to a parking lot on Main Street for some more shots.
Kasey wanted a photo in front of the mural she helped paint when she was in high school.

Of course we can't not have a jumping shot. Kasey and Kirby, good job convincing mom
to play along!

Sully's Baby Portraits

I am loving her more and more every time I see her.
Thanks "Grandma" for being a good assistant!

Trying Something New

As much as possible, I try to process my photos as natural as possible.
I mostly just crop, adjust exposure, saturation, clarity and details using Lightroom.
I haven't really played with Photoshop much. Mainly because I end up with a blank look
in my face whenever I try to watch tutorials online for it.

While sorting through Lightroom, I found some photos from my cousin Jack's baseball game
that I never got around to editing.
I thought I'd try something new, something different.
Lets play with presets!

I really think you need self-control when editing. It's easy to go overboard
when post-processing images. Some styles may not fit every image.
Then again, everyone has their own style and preference.
