Amado and I ventured to Little Tokyo early Saturday morning to make sure
we're one of the first ones to line up for Art in the Street exhibit at MOCA.
I've been waiting for months for this exhibit to finally open.
It was very exciting to finally see some pieces by the artists I've seen on the
documentaries I've recently watched.
Thank you Netflix!
They even had Stephen Sprouse!
André
Margaret Kilgallen
Space Invader
Amado has a few more of Space Invader's stuff on his phone.
He made it a game to find as much as he can while we were walking around.
Shepard Fairey : Andre the Giant/OBEY
I love the street photography they had.
Keith Haring
I wish they had more of his work in color.
They had a section with about 5-6 pieces that were done with chalk.
Banksy
Definitely the most visited part of the gallery.
After walking for hours and we headed over to Little Tokyo for lunch.
Dropped by Nijiya first.
Not really sure why they always pose the same way but I make Amado copy
their poses every time we go to a Japanese market.
This is the first time he let me post one.
We had lunch at Frying Fish.
My favorite conveyor belt sushi spot.
I love going here.
Definitely bring back memories of me roaming around LA with
my Uncle Mike :)
And check this out, a shout out!
Well not really but I though it was pretty cool.
