I assisted Chuck Espinoza earlier this month for Hayley and Joaquin's amazing DTLA wedding that started at the Biltmore Hotel and ended with a cool reception at The Loft Seven.
Being a second shooter is harder than others think it is. The "second" has more freedom since the pressure to get the key wedding shots is the main photographer's goal but it also means thinking outside of the box.
"What shot is he missing?" "How can I add on to his story?".
Go high, go low, go far and make sure to stay out of the main photographer's shot. But it's easier when you have some guidance from the main photographer on what his expectations are.
Looking forward to more weddings!
